There
was a profound duality in the personality of Abani Sen. There was
the meticulous artist, recording the most delicate impressions in
sensitive lines and colours, and there was a dormant creator, who
occasionally emerged from the caverns of the unconscious to forge
vital, massive organic forms which developed a titanic premordial
impact. And it is a tribute to the artistic intelligence of Abani
Sen that he knew precisely what media and technique to use with each
level of inspiration.
